Terms & conditions
Horse riding, especially Cross Country riding, is and always will be, a high risk sport. By following the rules and guidelines given we hope to keep these risks to an absolute minimum.
By riding at the premises the rider accepts that they/their trainer or responsible adult (if under 18) has surveyed the facilities (and any obstacles such as show jumps or cross country jumps) and the ground conditions and understand that they/their trainer are responsible for assessing the ground conditions and/or construction and maintenance of the jumps/obstacles/fences.
Trainers, coaches, teachers or any person responsible for a rider must hold public liability insurance and any person bringing a groom, rider or paid assistance onto the premises must hold employers liability insurance.
All riders must be accompanied by another responsible person (who may be mounted or un-mounted) who must have access to a mobile phone in order to summon assistance in the event of an emergency.
Hats MUST be worn and correctly fastened at all times when handling horses and when mounted to the current British Equestrian Trade Association (BETA) standard.
Body protectors to meet the current BETA Standard must also be worn when mounted as well as suitable riding footwear.
It is compulsory to give way to members of the public using the public footpaths or riders using public bridleways that cross the course. We ask you exercise the general courtesy, as you would expect upon yourself, when meeting other riders either on the bridleway or the course. It is compulsory that you make yourself aware of bridleway and public footpath locations before riding (maps will be provided).
Visiting dogs are permitted but must be kept on leads and under control at all times.
All gates must be kept closed at all times and it is compulsory that you read and obey signs and notices around the site.
Kimpton Cross Country Course is located at Ramridge Farm. Ramridge is a working farm and as a result there may be agricultural work being undertaken at the time of your visit. We will, where possible, try to avoid farm work being carried out while the course is open. Please give way to any tractors and farm machinery.
Riders using the cross country course must not jump any jump marked with ‘crossed flags’ as this indicates that the jump must not be used under any circumstances.
Riders and their trainers, spectators, helpers must not take any glass or breakable objects onto the facilities. All items taken onto the facilities must be removed at the end of the relevant session. This includes any hay or droppings in the parking area.
All visiting horses must have a valid passport and be vaccinated within the last 12 months. Any horses showing signs of illness should not be brought on site at any time.
Any damage to fences should be reported to the organisers. In the event of damage, reasonable costs may be charged for repair or replacement.
